EVER
INCREASING COMPLEXITY :
Being "snowed under" is
neither due to bad luck nor to
some temporary circumstances. Everincreasing
complexity is the natural law of order
in the universe. We all have to learn
to tackle complexity, which proves more
challenging everyday. We also want to
keep breathing, and to preserve our
life balance, which also means preserve
our ability to perform in the longer
term.
OPERATIONAL
COACHING
We
propose a special form of executive coaching,
which we call operational coaching, in which
the work is of course centred of the individual who
is
coached, but also includes a professional as well
as personal analysis
of the challenges which our clients
are facing.
The
coach works with his client in a very pragmatic
way to :
Identify and sort priorities,
Identify major difficulties and challenges,
in relation to personal preferences and
habits,
Evaluate short term and longer term
consequences of decisions under evaluation,
Decide what changes should be implemented
or prepared.
In
a second phase, the coach may assist his client
in the implementation stages of the business actions which
have been decided. This may include selecting and
monitoring some suppliers. This is facilitated not only by the operational experience
of our consultants, but also by the support they
can receive from other Saint George Institute colleagues.
The
most important ingredient for a successful
coaching assignment is the relationship quality
between coach and client
: confidence, respect and complicity. To reach this
quality, it is most helpful
that the coach can be viewed as a peer by his client. But the
real alchemy of complicity between coach and
client cannot be checked on paper or decided, it
can only be revealed after a first working session.
